A multispecialty health camp at a picturesque locale

There is an old saying that goes ‘Do a good thing and many good people will join you’. This was demonstrated in good measure at the recently held health camp by Healthway Super Specialty Hospital at the enchanting Socorro village.  The camp titled appropriately as ‘Aarogya’ which means ‘Good Health’ was organized by the Rotoract club of Panjim,  supported by the Socorro Panchayat (local administration), Healthway Super Specialty Hospital (multi specialty support) and ‘Porvorim Rising’ a dynamic ecology restoration and tourism promotion initiative of the region by Shri Rohan Ashok Khaunte, the Honourable Minister of Tourism, IT, E&C, Printing and Stationary, State of Goa. The highlight of the camp was that unlike most camps where a general physician would examine the patients and refer them to a specialist at the base hospital for detailed evaluation if needed, the camp had senior specialists from the specialties of Orthopedics, Gynecology, Oncology, Rheumatology, ENT surgery, Ophthalmology, General physician, General Surgeon right at the spot, there was also a counter for BP, sugar and weight checking making it a multispecialty camp with a holistic approach. The camp was publicized in advance and held at the easily accessible Socorro Panchayat Hall making it convenient for the local residents to attend and benefited 130 local residents.
