Healthway hospital conducts a special medical camp for special people!

Old age is a delicate phase in a man/woman’s life when the body’s immunity levels and overall functionality begins to wane making elders vulnerable to ailments, it is also a phase when ageing related issues begin to surface, hence it is very critical that the physical and mental health of elders is periodically evaluated, monitored and remedial actions taken without delay. Healthway Charitable Trust the not for profit arm of Healthway hospitals conducted a special senior citizens medical camp for its beloved elders at Ponda. The camp organized under the aegis of the Ponda Taluka Senior Citizens Forum had specialists from the departments of Orthopedics focusing on joint problems especially arthritis, General Medicine dealing with Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus and other geriatric issues and Ophthalmology check ups to check diabetic retinopathy in those assembled at the camp. In addition to this the vital parameters such as blood pressure, sugar and pulse rate were checked. The camp was well received by the elders of the locality and a total of 75 people were examined after which cost free medicine was distributed.
